Add one more voice of support for morning sex. In a marriage of almost 40 years ( wife’s passed away) early on we added early am sex to our breakfast menu. Over time after empty nest it became a preferred way to start each day. Any inconveniences, breath etc. were easily overcome in anticipation.

In a way it became a shared morning meditation. It was kind of like Rilke’s “separate strings of a violin making music together”.

We used to joke about or evaluate whether or how “morning sex” compared to “make-up sex”. In the spirit of scientific inquiry we vowed to combine both into a yes/and which included subjective and objective measures. Too much fun.
