Having recently turned 80 I've been meaning to write me version of your passage to 70. The titles of mine range from "Life Begins at 80" to "The Angry Old Man" ( the latter is more about the state of affairs beyond my immediate). Regardless of the title I only gotten this far.

My mantra is "letting go without giving in"

I've been avoiding thinking about this B Day 80 number for some time. Despite my avoiding it, the day has come and gone. The younger version of me would say that 80 is old, plain and simple. The 80-year-old version awoke this morning to "life begins at 80". Numerology supports this view "the number 80 is believed to represent abundance, success, and prosperity, as it is composed of the energies and vibrations of the numbers 8 and 0. The number 8 is associated with material success, while 0 represents wholeness and infinity." This sounds pretty good to me.
