I'm sitting chuckling as I read this. Of course, freaking, of course. In a nutshell you/he just nailed why I'll never be a writer. I simply cannot stomach the process of revisiting let alone editing something I've written. On the rare occasion when I'm forced to read something it is just viscerally painful. As I write this I will not read again or edit!

Crap, all of this stuff trapped in my head aching to come out will be forever unedited and unpublished.

Affirming that all first drafts are crap is, oh so, liberating. A book of unedited crap first drafts? Maybe?
