In the past several years I've visited Monticello with my Grandchildren where I and they learned much of the story you're telling. I knew a little of the story so not surprised but what was surprising was the "interest" of my grandchildren. They were just mesmerized. The conversations sparked by the "Hemming's" story were among the richest and deepest I've had with them. Although, I often passed along what I and they learned in conversation with others but I've never written about. You writing this allows me to pass it along to ignite and spark conversations. Again, thank you.

As an aside there are similar stories about other Founder's such as John Jay surfacing now as well.
